The **Khpelwan Rehabilitation Social Services Organization (KRSSO)**, established in 2003 and headquartered near Kabul University, is a multi-sectoral non-governmental organization dedicated to the sustainable development and empowerment of the Afghan people. Managed by a professional team of social activists, medical doctors, and technical experts, KRSSO operates under the guiding philosophy that integrated national development requires a firm rejection of war, social injustice, and inequality. KRSSO Experience in Project Management

KRSSO Experience Of The Issues
To Be Addressed
KRSSO has experience implementing projects of different kinds. Over the years, it has worked with men, women, and
children with various kinds of vulnerabilities and disabilities in community-based rehabilitation, such as providing
physiotherapy, vocational training, mobility training, basic education, job creation, awareness-raising, and sporting
events. KRSSO has been one of the first focused NGOs in Afghanistan to shift its approach in the programming
framework to a rights-based approach. In 2003, KRSSO worked in close cooperation with UNDP, representatives of the
ILO, and the Ministry of Labor, and Social Affairs to develop a pioneering inclusive livelihood-mainstreaming project in
Kabul. KRSSO has worked closely with the UN and the government to develop the new model and document lessons
learned to inform policy and programming. This project was extremely successful and has achieved excellent development
results.

KRSSO Programs Objectives
- ►To offer help and emergency relief assistance such as food supply, clothing, shelter, medicine, etc to vulnerable Afghan families/internally displaced people IDPs, and refugees.
- ► Improving rehabilitation and economic opportunities for returnees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)
- ► Reintegration and inclusion of vulnerable back into their communities to avoid their isolation.
- ► Employment support for vulnerable people through the provision of vocational training, literacy and numeracy courses, and other sources.
- ► Increasing public awareness through civic education and public awareness sessions
- ► Protection support including the construction of transitional shelters, provision of cash for winterization, and other Nan-Food Item (NFI) support such as blankets, winter clothing, etc.

- ► To develop the working capacity of CSOs, CDC members, government staff, and local councils through the Provision of Project Proposal writing, Project Cycle Management training, Need Assessment training, project management training, and other training in the needed areas.
- ► To help negate the conflicts in the local communities through the provision of peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and gender training to local Shura, Youth, women, CDC and government staff, and other community groups.

- ► To promote human rights, women's rights, and rights of persons with disabilities through greater awareness raising about the NAPWA, ANDAP, and UNCRPD policies and conventions.
- ► To help the youth and young generation of the country by improving their skills through access to information, internet, and capacity development training in different needed areas.
- ► To contribute to the reconstruction and rehabilitation process of Afghanistan by helping the government in the execution of policies and spreading the messages of peace.
